Our Labor and Delivery suites, family-oriented Maternity unit and Newborn Nursery are located on the third floor of the hospital. The comfortable design of the unit offers several rooms for labor, delivery and recovery. Tours of the unit are available for expectant mothers and family by calling 407.296.1380.
International Board Certified Lactation Consultants are health care professionals with specialized knowledge and experience helping breastfeeding families from pregnancy through weaning, and are an important part of the healthcare team. Holly McHugh-Mai, RN BSN, Health Central’s Certified Lactation Counselor, can be reached at 407.296.1360.
Pediatrics
We understand how traumatic a hospital experience can be for a child. Kid Central is our special Pediatric Unit designed to provide a comfortable environment for both you and your child. All required treatments and procedures will be carefully explained to you and your child. Each room has a sofa to allow one parent or caregiver to stay overnight. Visiting Hours for Kid Central are form 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.
FREE Childbirth Education classes offered by Orange County Healthy Start are held at Health Central on Tuesday evenings for 5 consecutive weeks with a newly added DADDY BOOT CAMP. Class times are 6:30 pm to 9:30pm. Classes are designed to prepare expectant parents for childbirth experiences and will discuss topics such as breathing and relaxation, stages of labor, pain management, the postpartum period, breastfeeding and care of the newborn. Participants are encouraged to bring at least two pillows, a blanket, a coach, a drink and a snack.
