Charitable Giving Options

Charitable donations to the Health Central Foundation offer a tax benefit while helping the hospital upgrade programs, acquire new medical technology and continue community outreach.  There are many ways and many reasons to give; please see below for some opportunities.

Area of Greatest Need
An unrestricted gift means that your donation will contribute directly to the hospital program that has the greatest need.  Each year, the Foundation board of directors in partnership with the hospital determines where these funds will make the biggest difference.

End-of-the Year Giving
A gift during the holiday season brings end-of-the-year tax benefits for the donor and touches the lives of many current and future hospital patients. Your generosity allows the Foundation to provide vital financial support to the hospital.  As you write your holiday list each year, we hope you will remember the hospital's mission to ensure that life-saving care is available at any time day or night, right here in West Orange County.

Tribute Giving
A donation to a charitable organization is the perfect way to honor friends or family members. It can be in celebration of a birthday, anniversary or special occasion, or a memorial tribute in recognition of someone's life.  A contribution of this type is a wonderful opportunity to publicly acknowledge and appreciate someone, while supporting important hospital programs.

Capital Campaigns
Hospitals must keep up with the demand for upgraded services and more modern facilities, especially as the community around them changes and grows.  Often, a capital campaign is required to raise funds for important projects.  Please ask about our current campaign.

Hope & Healing Society
Certain levels of philanthropy warrant more visible recognition.  Members of the prestigious Hope & Healing Society receive several benefits: recognition on our lobby Donor Wall, a parking sticker allowing parking in designated spots and invitations to exclusive receptions. Membership is open to anyone (employees excluded) who have contributed $1,000 or more to the hospital in the preceding calendar year, either through a single or multiple donations.

Grateful Patient Program
When you or a loved one receives exceptional care, the best way to express your gratitude is through our Grateful Patient Program.  Patients, family members and friends can make a financial contribution to the hospital as a way of saying thank you.  Charitable gifts ensure that Health Central continues to provide the kind of care in West Orange County it deserves.

National Doctor's Day is March 30
Has a physician recently improved the quality of your life or perhaps the life of a loved one? Has your doctor been there by your side during a difficult time? Have you wished for a way to show your thanks and appreciation? In the spirit of recognizing the significance of physicians in our community, the Health Central Foundation is offering an opportunity for individuals to honor, thank and show appreciation to our local doctors. To celebrate National Doctor's Day, please consider making a donation to Health Central Foundation in honor of your physician(s).

 Language for including us in your estate document

We suggest the following language when making a gift:

General unrestricted bequest

"I give and bequeath to Health Central Foundation, Ocoee, Florida, a not-for-profit corporation, the sum of $_____ (OR ___ percentage OR the securities or property described herein, namely...) to be used as directed by the Board of Directors of Health Central Foundation, Ocoee.

 Restricted bequest

"I give and bequeath to Health Central Foundation, Ocoee, Florida, a not-for-profit corporation, the sum of $____ (OR ___ percentage OR the securities or property described herein, namely...) and request same be used as directed by the Board of Directors of Health Central Foundation, Ocoee, FL for ... (describe the specific program bequest is to be used for.)"

 Residuary bequest

"All the rest, residue and remainder of my estate, wherever situated, (OR ___ percentage of the remainder) I give, devise and bequeath to Health Central Foundation, Ocoee, Florida, a not-for-profit corporation, to be used... (describe use as indicated under General unrestricted bequest or Restricted bequest above.)

 Beneficiary designation of life insurance policy, retirement plans or financial account.

Provide insurance company, administrator of retirement plan, or financial institution with the required form and the following language: "I hereby designate Health Central and Health Central Foundation, Ocoee, Florida, a not-for-profit corporation, irrevocable beneficiary of Policy No. ______, Plan No. ______, or Account No. _____."

           You may make your gift in your name, or you may choose to memorialize or honor a loved one through your estate gift.
