About Us

The Health Central Foundation was established in 1981, and is led by a board of directors that provide direction and leadership. Since its inception, the Foundation has raised money through leadership gifts, capital campaigns, popular special event fundraisers and a vital planned gift program.

Your Foundation donation can ensure that this state-of-the-art local health care facility continues to fulfill the medical needs of West Orange County with its surrounding communities.

The Foundation shall advance and strengthen Health Central by promoting, accepting, and administering gifts on behalf of the Hospital and its programs.

Foundation History

Our humble beginnings....
The Foundation was established in 1981 and began by raising money for physician recruitment for West Orange Memorial Hospital in Winter Garden, which in 1992 became Health Central and moved to Ocoee.

Our primary mission.....
In recent years fundraising efforts have included providing funds for the School Nurse Program which places RN's in many of the elementary, middle and high schools in the West Orange Healthcare District.

Other areas supported in the past are various capital campaigns, Nursing Scholarships to encourage higher education, proactive community health education for seniors, children and families, life saving medical equipment, and healthcare for the uninsured.

Your donation at work...
The Foundation accepts contributions from individuals, corporations, foundations and other donors for facility improvement, equipment purchases, nursing and allied Health Scholarships, or programs such as School Nurse.

Through these contributions many areas have been supported including the Adult Day Care Program and the new Family Room at Health Central Park. This room was remodeled to provide comfort, care and pain management to the terminally ill resident and their family members in a quality, home-like environment.

Other areas supported in the past are the capital campaign for the current hospital located in Ocoee, Nursing Scholarships to encourage higher education, proactive community health education for seniors, children and families, life saving medical equipment, and healthcare for the uninsured.
